I’ve just finished reading Relentless Protector, another superior thriller from Colleen Thompson and Harlequin Intrigue. The story pairs Cole Sawyer, an ex-Army Ranger with a troubled past, and Lisa Meador, a young widow with a child in danger. Lisa doesn’t know the history that brings them together, just that she needs Cole’s help to protect her five-year-old son. Cole is all too aware of the secret that binds him to Lisa while keeping her off limits. The tension never lets up as Cole and Lisa race across Texas to rescue little Tyler from a terrifying fate.
Thompson’s characters are admirable and believable. Cole’s sense of honor drives him to help and protect Lisa no matter what happens, while Lisa will do whatever it takes to save her child. Tyler, the little boy, is a charmer, thoughtful, perceptive, and resourceful. The two sheriff’s deputies who get involved in the mystery behind the kidnapping have their own problems to solve, and they too earn the reader’s empathy.
Relentless Protector is thriller you won’t want to put down until the last page is turned.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on an early copy. Relentless Protector will be available on September 4, 2012.

I received an early copy too, Kay. I couldn’t put it down until I knew Tyler was safe with his mother. Colleen’s books have always been fast reads for me as her characters quickly grab ahold and won’t let me go until every last line has been read. Thanks, Colleen.

Hi, Jan! Thanks for stopping by. Colleen’s books are always page turners. I have to be careful about staying up too late with them–but I read this one on Saturday night. No need to get up early the next morning.
